Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush #85 Evocation Comparisons

Before September is over, there is one more post to be published. As I introduced you earlier, Chanel is about to release two new brushes with their powder foundation, #85 Evocation and #86 Discretion (reviewed and compared previously here). I checked my stash and picked up two shades. They are not very close but I believe these can give you some idea about the real color of the blush.

By the following swatches you see that Evocation is leaning bronze as the other two shade pull rather pink (#71 Malice) or plum (#63 Plum Attraction). Shimmer qualities are similar, they are not particularly shimmery but have a bit of a micro shimmer to them, which gives a natural glow once applied.

After checking through my stash, I found out that Evocation is a good replacement for some of the, now discontinued Chanel Blush Duos. #40 Tweet Ambre and #50 Tweed Sienna are both similar to Evocation but I found #40 Tweet Ambre being particularly close.

They are not dupes though, Tweet Ambre reads slightly darker and pinker but they are definitely very close relatives. I was lacking a brownish rosa in Chanel's Joues Contraste range after Tweed Effects were discontinued. I am not surprised that they didn't wait long before adding Evocation to their permanent line.

No final thoughts this time. All I want to write is that today officially marks 6th month of blogging. It has been a tough but fun 6 months. Today I also started giving lectures again so until December, you might be experiencing some delay in responses or publishing of comments. I will, though, try my best to keep up with this little blog. It is so much fun to read your comments on products which I am into at the moment. I also learn a lot of new things from our discussions here or at twitter and love meeting other make-up enthusiasts all around the world. Thanks so much for your support.

    1. Thanks for following Nicole. It is hard to believe for me too that it has only been 6 months, it feels like forever LoL. I was posting on Instagram and twitter prior to blogging, maybe that is why, thank you for your kind words. Xox

    1. Hi, yes it is. I find it more brightening on my complexion than Evocation. I feel like my skin tone needs more a bit of rose hues to the cheeks :-)

    1. I think this particular one can work on paler skin tones as well. More important is the under tones. If your complexion is very cool, this one might be harder to pull off.
