I love the formula of Clarins' powders and once it is combined with a modern breathtaking design, I can't resist. Opalenscence Collection also has creme blushes which I am very curious to try once they hit my local counter. Face & Blush Powder was ordered by me, sight unseen, simply because I had very good experience with these in the past years. I wanted to add this one to my small collection of Clarins powder blushes.

The packaging is made of plastic but very chic in an iridescent, color changing way. It is very difficult to photograph, I hope this gives an idea.

The powder is finely milled and partly ornamented with gold over spray which unfortunately fades by the first application. There are three shades combined, a mid-toned rosewood, a mid-toned cool brown and a peachy skin shade.

Once mixed all together, it becomes a peachier version of my skin tone (NC 20-25). It is very close, so hard to see on my arm. On the face it is a little more apparent but still very subtle.

Clarins Palette Eclat from last year's Spring collection is a truly gorgeous nudy blush on me. It brightens up my complexion and gives enough color to my cheeks. Once compared to Opalescence, you can see that Eclat is denser and more pink.
Clarins Graphic Expression from Fall 2013 is more of a peachy blush, which I also find myself reaching for at the moment. It has almost the same undertones once compared to Opalenscence but it is denser and pulls more coral.
Clarins Color Accent from Fall 2012 Collection works more like a subtle bronzer. It is more brown than any of the others, including Opalenscence and darker than Opalescence.

Final thoughts: Finely milled, gorgeously designed and reasonably priced but if you would like to use it rather as a brush, make sure it shows up on you because this one is much lighter than the previous releases. Opalescence would work best on fair ladies out there.

DeleteClarins have really upped their game on the make-up front these last few seasons. Their blushes and lip products are really good quality and pretty presentation for the price point.
ReplyDeleteI can't agree more, I loved their bronzer during summer and I am an avid collector of their powders/blushes. Now I am hearing very good reviews about their creme blushes. Oh and I am loving the few lip pies I have from them :-)
DeleteWe have Clarins skincare here, but not makeup. That's quite annoying because I see many beautiful makeup Clarins has to offer. I guess I'll have to get them online! LOL

I love the design/packaging on Clarins products! I have never tried any makeup from this brand, probably because when I was in India there used to be hardly anything new makeup-wise at the Clarins counter..

Looking at the swatched I'd say that it is indeed too light for my medium skin, but that said, it is a lovely product! The packaging, the print, just lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, lovely, but right, this time around it is rather light. I also love their eye products, I got the single and the quad from this collection, will be reviewing them soon. Something tells me, you may like them ;-)
DeleteWow, you have quite a collection there. :) I just got this for review and haven't put it on my face yet. What's your preferred method of application? I'm thinking it almost acts as one of those Chanel Les Beiges type powders on certain skin tones.
ReplyDeleteLol, Liz yes... I was like oh this looks lovely, that too, let me get it kind of ;-) you know how it all ends. I use all of these as blush, even this one shows up lightly, they are all nude lovely blushes for me. I rarely use powder because of my normal to dry skin.
