Sometimes ideas which are being discussed in beauty and make-up forums become real. During the recent years I have read a growing wish for a more pigmented version of Guerlain's cult product Meteorite Perles which has the same heavenly glow as their classical counterparts but made for the cheeks as a blusher. I am happy to tell you today that Guerlain must have heard it and made our dreams come true. Their Spring Collection Les Tendres comes with their first Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush to give you an lit within glow.

Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Éclat Angélique for Les Tendres Spring 2015 Collection |
Les Tendres Collection is about a soft tender glow, which Guerlain describes as angelical. In promo photos, Natalia Vodianova posses in light-weight pink organza, her hair disobeying a soft wind and the light is touching the high points of her face in a delicate way. If you ignore for a moment she is looking slightly cross eyed and it is all blurred a bit too much, it is a lovely spring image.
Packaging:
Upon my post in Instagram, I was mostly asked about the packaging. Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Éclat Angélique comes in a card board package and it sounds like some of the fans would prefer a tin one. I believe the decision was to get a vintage packaging with a Toile de Jouy motive of cherubs. It is super cute and this printing wouldn't be possible on a tin can. It doesn't bother me that it is card board but the type of card board chosen here is without lack on it, so I am hoping it won't look dirty after I open it with my hands full of make-up.
The packaging is smaller than the regular size Météorites please refer to the end of this post for a side-by-side comparison.

The Product:
Once the lid is removed, there is a white powder puff inside, which on one side turned all pink since the pearl balls are very pigmented. The size of the balls are smaller than the regular ones. Approximately the half of the container is empty so that the puff can fit in.

There are three different pearl balls inside:
#1: A warm white with shimmery finish. This one is the closest to the regular Météorites formula to get the soft focus glow going.
#2: A medium warm pink with satin to matte finish and very good color pay-off. This type dominates the other two, which makes the application easy and fast, meaning you don't have to swirl your brush over and over.
#3: A very light baby pink with satin to matte finish. This one brightens up the complexion with its fresh tone.

Three types of pearl balls swatched: Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Éclat Angélique |
When it was time to swatch the blush, I was like, "well, how am I going to do it?"
I tried several techniques which didn't work all that well, like swatching three balls on top of each other or using a brush applying blush all over my arm, then removing parts of the application with Bioderma. In the end it turned out that the best way is to use the dust accumulated at the bottom of the compact and swatch with a finger.
You can see that the resulting color is somewhere between strong warm rose tones of #2 and delicate cool rose of #3 with a glow which #1 gives. It is a universally flattering shade, which would look good on almost anyone. Although it is very pigmented, the resulting color is a soft medium tone so I am not sure how it would look on very deep complexions.
Here are some comparisons for your reference. Chanel Joues Contraste Rose Initiale, another universally flattering shade is very close, even in terms of shimmer, except the fact that Guerlain Météorites Blush is slightly warmer. Dior Corail Bagatelle (reviewed here) is brighter. Tom Ford Wicked is denser although the tone of the pink is quiet close. Chanel Joues Contraste Angelique (reviewed here) is warmer.

Shade comparison of Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Éclat Angélique to Chanel, Tom Ford and Dior |
I have already mentioned that the box and the balls are both on the smaller side once compared to regular Météorites. Below you can find a size comparison with Météorites from Holiday Collection which is the same as ones from the permanent line. Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush is around half the size. Blush Météorites have 13 g of product while Météorites contain 25 g. Considering that Blush Météorites are thousand times more pigmented and that 13g of any blush is a good size, I think I can live with the size difference.

Price and Availability:
I believe as of today Guerlain Spring 2015 Collection Les Tendres is available in the states. In Germany the collection will be released in January. Guerlain Météorites Perles de Blush Éclat Angélique is going to retail for 46.50€.
Final thoughts: I am happy to see that Guerlain tries an interesting twist for their cult Météorites for upcoming season. I think the glow of Météorites combined with a universally flattering pink makes a lovely blush and it is one of must-tries this season. I would love to see a pressed form of this product in a travel friendly form too, similar to Crazy 68 Terracotta but with less bronze and more pink.
What do you think about the packaging and the idea of Météorites Blush?

The product in this post is provided free of charge for my consideration.
