I hope you are having a good start in the week. After a short weekend (as always) I feel like bringing in some color to cheer us all up. What about green like a precious stone... Jade? Like the one below. No wait, isn't it more of a Khaki? Just let me layer it for you and you will understand.
Today it is again about my favourite Spring Collection, Tom Ford, and one of the Eye Color Duos, #02 Raw Jade.

Tom Ford Eye Color Duo #02 Raw Jade |
I have swatched and fallen in love with all of the three Tom Ford Eye Color Duos for Spring last week. Now I am slowly trying them out to provide you with more information about how they perform on the eyes.Today it is the turn of Tom Ford Eye Color Duo #02 Raw Jade.
Raw Jade offers a khaki green and a very light white with iridescent green in wet & dry formula of Tom Ford. Once these two are layered, it is magical, a very complex beautiful metallic Jade green. I like applying white then wet to intensify the effect exactly at points where I would like to highlight, like middle of the lid or inner corner.

Swatch: Tom Ford Eye Color Duo #02 Raw Jade |
Some of you might have wondered how Raw Jade compares to other Tom Ford greens. You know I am an avid collector of Tom Ford eye shadows so I have pulled out Sahara Haze and Emerald Lust from my stash. Sahara Haze's celestial shade is close to the layered shade of Raw Jade but the light reflecting properties and texture is different. I prefer Raw Jade since I don't have to deal with applying and removing glitter but it still offers breath taking light reflection. The deepest shades are however very different. Sahara Haze has a deep cool brown with gold sparkle but Raw Jade is a khaki with satin metallic finish. Emerald Lust is more teal and cooler in tone than both of these.

On the eyes if you layer the shades, the resulting look is bright but wearable. I found this particular duo more matching to Spring and even Summer since the shade of green is light hearted. I have applied khaki on the outer half, blending until the inner third and added iridescent white green on the inner corner, blending until the half of the lid. With this one you can get a gorgeous gradient effect which you can amplify by adding a touch of wet white-green on the inner corner and blending a little towards the inner one third. Although I find some of the greens hard to wear, I really enjoyed the resulting look.

I have combined a nude lip and light blusher with this look. Below I am wearing Tom Ford Frantic Pink on the cheeks and Tom Ford Peter on the lips. As usual I have also found a matching scarf, hope you like it.

FOTD: Tom Ford Eye Color Duo #02 Raw Jade, Frantic Pink Blush, Peter Lip Color |
The eye look didn't crease nor faded over 12 hours and counting. It stayed put all day. I am also loving Peter, especially with greens and wear it often with colorful smokey eye. These are still available in the States so you may want to check it out. Recently I have posted a photo at Instagram about the damage Tom Ford's Boy made. I felt good to hear that I am not the only one and ended up ordering one more ;-)

By the way in and out of topic, have you seen the Beautygeeks post on green smokey eyes of Lady Gaga done by Sarah Tanno? Although she didn't use Tom Ford duos for that one, with Raw Jade you can easily get a similar effect, and it is more wearable!
Final thoughts: I am loving Raw Jade too, very much, although my heart always belongs to the purple one.
Green or plum? Or blue? Which is your favourite when it comes to some color on the eyes?
