Chanel Lumiere D'Ete Illuminating Bronzer and Rouge Coco Shine #507 Insoumise, Review, Swatch, Comparison & FOTD

Long weekend which I was waiting for has already started *takes a sip from sparkling wine*. Cheers everyone! I made it to the end of April, now I have to pay the bills and *cough cough* there are so many of them due to brush and make-up overkill in Japan and Sephora haul in the States. But tonight I will try not to think about it, lol.

I would like to end the month with a super pretty piece which belongs to a make-up museum. I will try to talk about how it performs but seriously, do you bother? I mean, look at it, is there a way to skip it? Here are my thoughts about Chanel Lumiere D'Ete Illuminating Bronzer and Rouge Coco Shine #507 Insoumise.

Suqqu Eye Color Palette Ex-02 Yosaizora and Color Lip Protector Ex-01 for Summer 2015, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Since Friday is holiday here, there is only one more day left to this week. My appointment yesterday went very well, but I feel like someone drove a truck over me. I think after all the travelling, now I need some holidays. I am definitely planning to take it easy for the long weekend.

But till then I have so many pretties to share with you. I get so excited and start jumping around when I play with beautiful make-up. I am talking about Suqqu Summer!  I brought these with me from Japan and took them with me to the States. I put on Suqqu Eye Color Palette Ex-02 Yosaizora in the morning at the day of my presentation at the conference then went down to have a breakfast. I was staying on the 43th floor, which was way below than last time when I attended the same conference. Back then I enjoyed 63th floor. There is something about being so high up. One feels like god, lol. Anyway, went down for breakfast and ordered an omelette from a super sweet guy with rasta. I ordered from him the day before but this time he looked at me and said "wow you look so beautiful today!". That must have been... Suqqu!

Aerin Amber Musk Eau de Parfum, Review

Although the trees are full blossom and birds are already back, spring weather didn't quiet yet arrived here. I am insisting on not wearing a coat and hopelessly believe that spring will come quicker. With a smile I remember a fellow student who was coming from Columbia (where the weather is always nice!) and didn't have any coat, never owned a real one. He was saying "getting cold is all in our heads, it is all psychological". Well, I don't need to tell you the end of the story, he got sick and missed the classes for a week and decided to get himself a coat.

If you are having a cooler spring too, I have something warm for you. Aerin Lauder defines it being like a soft cozy blanket on a cold snowy night. It is designed to be worn in winter but right now with weather being rather chilly, I enjoy it very much. Aerin Amber Musk Eau de Parfum is one of the five perfumes which recently made their way to Germany and here are my thoughts about it...

Chanel Le Vernis #717 Coquelicot, #707 Meriterranée, #727 Lavanda and #697 Terrana, Review, Swatch & Comparison, Méditerranée Collection for Summer 2015

I hope you are all having a great Sunday! I am slowly getting back to schedule. During my travels, I spotted Chanel Summer Collection at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. With duty free prices, I was unable to resist and ended up going overboard. I shared my haul with you on Instagram, together with the fun fact that the ladies at the counter suspected that I was a beauty blogger and wanted the link to my blog. This is how we haul right?

Expect to see lots of Chanel next week. As I mentioned earlier, I have an important appointment on Tuesday but I am doing my best to keep up with the blog. A few comments may look like ignored at the moment, but they are not. They will all be answered very soon. I have played with Chanel Summer nail polishes yesterday and today. I wore the purple one yesterday and switched to Terrana today because I was not satisfied with the swatches. I will explain more about it, so let me start my review for one of the most exciting nail polish release of this year, Chanel Le Vernis #717 Coquelicot, #707 Meriterranée, #727 Lavanda and #697 Terrana for Méditerranée Collection.

Beauty Influencer’s Saturday (Sunday) Column Vol.6: Makeup / Skincare DOs and DON’Ts

Hi everyone,

I know it is Saturday, not yet Sunday but I just arrived today back to Germany, with some more jet lag and a little bit of head ache at the moment. So I thought since tomorrow I have something exciting to share with you, today I already go for our BISC post a little in advance. I hope that is fine.

This weeks question was to name three skincare or makeup Dos or Don'ts. From what I read, it turned out to be an interesting source of information. It was helpful for me, hope it is for you as well. If you have the time, I would love to read your Dos and Don'ts as well, please leave a comment below.

I will bounce back eventually around Wednesday. I have an important appointment on Tuesday which I yet to prepare. I will be more responsive, here and at Instagram, from Wednesday on. Thanks for your patience.

La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF 30, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you are all having a great Friday. How bad can a Friday be right? I am literally pushing the boundaries of my all time blogging abilities and writing this post from Newark Airport (New Jersey) Ski Lounge. I hope to get it done until my flight to Amsterdam boards. April was definitely the month of travel for me. I am trying to keep up with the blog and thanks to my beloved friends (insert big hearts here) I was able to do so until now.

I have been testing the newly released Reparative Skintint by La Mer. My previous test of La Mer The Illuminating Eye Gel (reviewed here) ended up by finding a holy grail solution to my dry under eye area. This is why I had very high expectations with this product, something like, it should give me a new face with a perfect complexion which will stay put until I take a shower. Did it meet my expectations? Here are my thoughts...

Jo Malone Geranium & Verbena and Birch & Black Pepper from Rock The Ages Collection, Review

Hi to everyone, I hope you enjoyed yesterday's technical session, *winks*. As my jet lag persists after four days, I start to discover the fun in waking up (super) early and getting some work done. Something I never achieved in life. I am rather a night owl but this experience is surely interesting.

Jo Malone London's Rock The Ages Collection rocked the blogosphere. Blog posts wouldn't stop of fellow bloggers who ended up purchasing it all. In Germany we were late to the party, hence my review comes just now. I see though these are still available at stores. Yesterday I was at Twelve Oaks Shopping Mall near Detroit, Jo Malone Counter at Nordstrom still had some pieces of the collection. Oh and yesterday I again went overboard. Before I financially declare bankruptcy after all my travels, I should seriously stop, like now!

Anyway back to Jo Malone. I find the idea of representing different ages with perfume to be very creative. Smells are all about recalling our memories. I was head over heels with their Wanderlust Collection (reviewed here). This time around it is hundreds of years, history of Britain, put in bottles.

Estée Lauder Perfectionist Youth Infusing Makeup SPF25, Review, Swatch, Comparison & FOTD

I am posting at odd hours, talk about jet lag, it is 5:30 am here. No way I would wake up this early. After a great Chanel haul at Amsterdam Schiphol and a long but comfortable flight, I arrived to Detroit. I watched Amour from Haneke on the road, which received Palme D'Or at Cannes a few years ago. It was on my to watch list for such a long time. That said it was probably the wrong choice for the flight,  although beautifully done, I guess I needed something more uplifting.

Back to beauty, I have been testing new foundations lately. Estée Lauder foundations are usually raved for a good reason so when they released a new one last year, I was very intrigued. I don't believe that anti-aging foundations should be used later in life. I think our skin can profit from a few extra ingredient any time, so I put Estée Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup into test.

Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Kissyfit and Cupid's Bow, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I am still in the process of packing but I am still trying to find out other things to do, not to pack. Are you also a last minute packer, do you also delay packing forever?

Back to topic, Clinique recently added new colors to their Long Last Glosswear line, two of which I was testing for a couple of weeks now. The names of these are so cute, the ones I have are called "Kissyfit" and "Cupid's Bow". Kissyfit *chuckles* Today I would like to share some swatches and FOTD as well as my thoughts about the formula.

My Picks from MAC Philip Treacy Collection, Pro Longwear Paint Pot Genuine Treasure, Hollywood Cerise Lipstick and Highlight Powder in Blush Pink, Review, Swatch, Comparison & FOTD

Have I said I am back? I will be traveling again from tomorrow on, this time to the other side of the world, to the States for a conference. There are so many products I would like to share with you so I will try my best to post even when I am there. I did some preparation during the last days. It will be the most fun experience with the jet lag especially since it is not all gone yet. Although I am usually a night person, I go to bed at around 10 to 11 pm at the moment and wake up really early. Let's see how it will look like during my travels.

Shortly before my trip to Japan, I have seen MAC Philip Treacy Collection at our local counter. I was rushing so I didn't have lots of time to play with them. In a hurry, I swatched a few products and decided on three of them. These had to wait for me at home until I was back. For the last couple of days I had the chance to play with them. Today I would like to share my thoughts with you before they are sold out. For those of you who also don't know about Philip Treacy, you can check him out here. He is a hat designer and designer based in London.

Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection, Eye Amplifier Aqua Silver, Super Gloss Rosy Future and Ultra White Eye Liner in Lunar White, Review, Swatches & FOTD

Right on time for the weekend I have a super fun collection to share with you. Estée Lauder collaborated this time with French Fashion Brand Courrèges to release a limited edition collection with a futuristic take on 60s touch. As the first Courrèges Atelier was founded in 1961, the motto of the brand was "Courrèges is tomorrow, begun today". The packaging and the color story definitely lives up to this. I have three products from the collection for you, Eye Amplifier Aqua Silver, Super Gloss Rosy Future and Ultra White Eye Liner in Lunar White.

Making of Japanese Brushes, Notes from My Visit to Chikuhodo Factory in Kumano

Hello everyone! Seeing all the beautiful photos and looks fellow bloggers shared with you, I am sure you haven't missed me. Just to let you know though, I am back! I had an amazing time and crazy hauls, so expect to see some Japanese make-up in the coming weeks. I am fighting with jet lag at the moment and sometimes what I say/write doesn't make sense. Nevertheless I will try my best today to bring Kumano, the brush city of Japan to you.

A few minutes before 7am we were rushing to the breakfast buffet at our hotel in Kyoto. I ordered the Japanese breakfast set as my husband enjoyed the croissants which were offered with the western style breakfast. Nevertheless I stole his bacons and add on my rice. On a short notice we managed to reserve seats for Shinkansen to Hiroshima and train leaves at 8:27am. I couldn't wait to see how softest brushes come alive in hands of brush artists. Needless to say we were so excited. Chikuhodo was kind enough to invite us for a tour to their factory in Kumano. After the fastest breakfast ever, we caught the subway to Kyoto main station and let the adventure begin.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring (Nails Edition), Natalia from "Polished Polyglot"

When the lovely Sara contacted me for proposing me to write this guest post I tried hard to act as normal as possible and I said something like: "Great, thank you! Count on me" whilst inside of me it was more like "OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, IS THIS EVEN REAL?? YAYYYYYY!! I CANT BELIEVE IT, SOMEBODY PINCH ME, JUST PINCH ME, GO AHEAD!!". I highly admire Sara as a blogger, I appreciate her work and above all I trust her opinion (quite blindly). So it is for me both an honor and a challenge to be writing this guest post.

Thank you Sara.

Let me introduce myself, I'm Natalia, from Argentina living in Switzerland, I am a mom and I have a blog named Polished Polyglot about makeup and cosmetics in general but mainly about nails. I wouldn't call myself a "nail blogger" but if you would that's ok ;)

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Alice from "Alice Yeh"

Hi! My name is Alice, a Belgian twenty-something-year old that's passionate about all things beauty. I believe that beauty has the power to create a better version of ourselves, empowering us to conquer the world. Aside of being a student, I'm sharing this passion for beauty in my free time with the rest of the world in my blog Alice Yeh. As Sara is leaving on holidays, I was more than glad to share a few of my spring faves with you.

As much as I adore autumn and summer, I get genuinely most excited about spring. Finally able to wave goodbye to the shivering cold and lifeless trees, ready to welcome the comforting warmth and blooming nature with wide-open arms. A new season also means a new wardrobe, and this includes my indispensable MUJI drawers in which I’ve mostly added glow-inducing products so far. Here are some new and revisited faves.

Hi dear Color Me Loud readers!

I'm Alex, author of anonymiss.net and my beauty heart beats for blushes, lipsticks and brushes (aaaaand Tom Ford). When Sara asked me to be a part of her Guest Post Blog Series and to show my favourite spring products I immediately said yes! Spring is my favourite season (not only because it's my birthday in spring ;D), but because the nature wakes up from its winter sleep. It gets warmer so you can finally wear all of the beautiful outfits, that were hidden in the closets!

Beauty Influencer’s Sunday Column Vol.5: Hyped Product I Regret Buying

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great Sunday. I don't want to interrupt Faces of Spring Guest Blogger Series but I just remembered that I forgot to publish this week's Beauty Influencer's Sunday Column, so here it is. This week the question was more "critical". I hope you enjoy it. I am loving the wonderful posts and the discussions on the Faces of Spring Series, although I can't join it all that much due to limited internet access. Right after BISC I will publish today's post.

I got a little sick during the holidays and trying to keep up with all the cosmetics, skin care hauls while keeping my sore throat at bay by constant green tea and Miso Soup consumption. Two more days in Tokyo and we have to leave *sigh*. It went so fast.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Lily from "Chloe.Ash"

Hi everyone,

I'm Lily from Chloe.Ash Beauty Blog and I'm glad to be here to stand in for Sara just for today. I am a fellow beauty junkie from makeup to skincare. I have normal skin and I love my smokey eyes. I have hooded lids and it's a blessing in disguise because it takes A LOT for makeup to look especially dramatic on me. Today, let me show you what's trendy here in Asia, particularly Malaysia. We're mostly about clean beauty, that places a lot of emphasis on clear luminous skin. That's why brightening skincare is one of the top selling skin care here! The Hallyu wave is still going strong, and many people love straighter thick brows. To complete the minimal look, eyes are defined using liner and mascara and just a touch of eye shadow, and lipstick.

What I have done here is to show you 2 looks. One is something that is more acceptable, that is to have the eye liner drawn straight with natural looking lips, and another is a winged out liner with brighter lips. Here are the products used.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Shelynx from "Der Blasse Schimmer"

Hi, there. Normally I write as “Shelynx” on my own Blog “Der Blasse Schimmer” (The Faintest Idea or The Palest Glow a pun not working in English) and I do immensely enjoy to be able to fill a lovely gap in Sara’s Spring Favorites while she enjoys her holidays! Especially since my own Spring Favorites drastically changed this year in contrast to the habits of the past.

This year I am a little lipstick obsessed and more daring concerning colours so one of them had to take it’s part today. There are some old and some new favorites.

Complexion

If my skin likes me (combination skin, sensitive, blemishes) I enjoy lightweight foundations by now as soon as it gets warmer. BUT I love my skin to look polished and - since I am very pale and don’t want to look sallow- healthy and glowing from within.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Siri from "Scribbled With Liner"

Hi. I’m Siri of Scribbled With Liner which is mostly about makeup but sometimes my wee furbaby Teyla steals the show with one of her posts often featuring the Northern-Norwegian scenery. We live in a small city placed approximately 69° north, so we get the northern lights, the midnight sun and the tourists coming to see it.

I am very excited to do a guest post here on Color Me Loud, because it’s one of my favourite blogs to read, and Sara’s been one of the people who, through their blogs, inspired me to do my own – which isn’t getting too much attention at the moment due to a dissertation I’m working on, but there are a few posts on there that I’m quite pleased with, so feel free to visit.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Melanie from "mel et fel"

Hello! My name is Melanie and I’m writing on the blog www.mel-et-fel.com since four years. The main topics on my blog are high end cosmetics, skin care and perfumes. I’m totally addicted to lipsticks and can’t resist corals, pinks and mauves. Sometimes I love to create creative looks with lots of colors, glitter and fake lashes. But today it will be more softly: I want to present my current favorites for spring.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Linda from "Silverkis"

Hi there!

I am Linda from Silverkis.com, and I’m very honored to be able to write this guest post for you today!  Sara and I share a lot of things in common, the first time we got chatting, she impressed me by how in-tuned she is to Asian makeup trends.  Myself, I spent a good part of my youth living in the US, and in some ways I find myself more Western-minded when it comes to makeup.  So the big question that I’ve always been trying to answer, is how to marry the best of East and West.  For today, I thought it’d be fun to give you a glimpse at some of my personal favorites from this past Spring 2015 collections, and explain them in the context of “Asian” beauty, with the hopes that it will give you a greater appreciation for some of these new trends that are gaining popularity.

Guest Post Series: Faces of Spring, Sara from "Color Me Loud"

Hey what am I doing here? Am I being featured in a Guest Post Series on my own blog?

Dear readers, here is the occasion... I will be on my way to Japan in about 6 hours from now. During the long hours I will be petting brushes, I was thinking what would be the best thing to keep up with the blog? I could prepare posts before hand and try to publish every now and then. But sometimes I come up with even a better idea!

I was asked to feature more "Favorites" and I had it top on my list to write a "Blogs I Love to Read" post. What about combining these two?

During the upcoming days I am going to bring you ten talented bloggers from blogs I love reading myself. I invited them to share their favorites for Spring with you. They will also feature regional trends and tips.

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart to every blogger who gave their time to prepare wonderful posts for me. I am very flattered to see that each and every one I asked agreed without a hesitation. One of the best things about blogging must be friendship and contacts and I came to recognize it more than ever by this blog post series.

I would like to start with my favorites at the moment as an opening post to Guest Post Series,  Faces of Spring. My post is rather quick since I don't have so much time in my hands at the moment. You know, I haven't packed yet! *grins*

It was on Thursday when I dropped by our local Dior counter and found Dior Summer Collection Tie & Dye unexpectedly soon. About my travel and many exciting things coming up next, I will be posting very soon, but first, yes Tie & Dye...

I have swatched the nail polishes of this collection for you here. I was not very impressed with the shade selection but some of the products I picked up from the rest of the collection live up to expectations. As the clock is ticking, very fast, towards my travels, which I am going to talk about in the next post, I still manage to do extensive hauls. Yesterday I was terrible, especially after seeing that Dior Summer Collection was already available and Chanel Les Intemporales also arrived. I have also snatched a few items from MAC Philip Treacy Collection. I must have gone a little overboard, especially considering I should be saving for my travel shopping.

Anyhow, I hope I can cover as much as I can before I fly. Today I quickly swatched the nail polishes and some other items from Dior Summer Collection for you and shared it at Instagram. I would like to share my thoughts with you on Dior Vernis #239 Sunkissed, #319 Sunwashed, #464 Sundown.

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Toilette for Him/for Her, Summer Edition, Review & Photos

“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me,
an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy.
For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me,
within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
- Albert Camus

I am struggling about my work life at the moment. I am not going to go over what my problems are but this quotation is a motivational one to remind us how strong we are. I found myself lacking motivation in lots of areas of my life after I went through a hard time with my health about three and half years ago. I might have died. This brought me to the realization (more than ever) that everything in life is eventually in vain. But having a strong, challenge seeking and hard working person in me, I started to conflict with the serenity and care-freeness my experience brought me. So here I am writing a perfume review of very inspirational flacon, seeking Camus' Summer in me, with the scents of summer and hoping that these do the trick.

Today I have Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Toilette for Summer 2015, for both women and men. The flacons are designed by Yulia Brodskaya, who is known for hand made her paper illustrations.
