Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color #05 Nude Pink, #53 Crimson Pink, #89 Rose Blush, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Here the weather is great which will stay like this until tomorrow. It will rain on Monday, exactly when we are leaving. Insert evil smile here.

I have been playing with three of the shades from Burberry Kisses formula which was released recently. I don't own many Burberry lippies although I am big on their powder products such as eye shadows and blushes. I have tried their Lip Mists before and loved the formula, lightweight, sheer and hydrating. They also have Lip Velvet, which is their more pigmented line I have to yet try. Kisses  line is supposed to bring these two together, offer more pigment while being hydrating. Here are my thoughts about the shades #05 Nude Pink, #53 Crimson Pink and #89 Rose Blush.

The color range of Burberry Kisses Lipsticks go from nudes to deep reds and it is available in 28 shades. Iconic colors such as Oxblood are also recreated with the new formula. Three of the shades I have tested are as follows:

#05 Nude Pink: It is a light natural nude with pink undertones. Nude Pink is the sheerest of the three shades I own which is as sheer as light colored Lip Mists but the formula has more hydration and more slip to it. Being that sheer, Nude Pink is also the shade which stays shortest on my lips. It wears around 3 hours on me but keep in mind I am a hopeless foody.

#53 Crimson Pink: It is a mid-toned natural pink with a good dose of pigment and a very hydrating feel to it. Crimson Pink is great for those casual days when you prefer an uplifting punch of color on your face. It is my favorite of the three I've tried, it lasted around 4-5 hours on me if I resist drinking and eating. Oh and I did just for the sake of this review, know you are loved!

#89 Rose Blush: It is a mid-toned plummy pink which almost looks like a my lips but better shade on me although swatches deeper. It is a great everyday color for me, especially during Fall I know I will take it in my handbag. This one lasts around 4 hours on me.

Swatch: Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color #05 Nude Pink, #53 Crimson Pink, #89 Rose Blush

Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color #05 Nude Pink is great paired with a smoky eye or for a super natural no-make-up look, as I did this week for an interview. It looks like my cheeks were not properly blended, ugh, ehm, that must be, the light! Yes the light so please ignore. I am trying to make MAC Golden Rinse (reviewed here) work on my complexion as a blush/bronzer but the efforts show it doesn't. Gosh I am so pale! Need more bronzer lol. Anyhow, everything worked great with the interview thingy, so probably my ghostly no make-up face didn't spoil everything. But the lipstick shade, love it as a sheer casual color, it is hydrating and very light weight. I only wished it would stay a little longer on me. I posted the rest of the make-up on my face here at Instagram.

FOTD with Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color #05 Nude Pink

Yes properly bronzed! Bring it on LOL. This time it is MAC Delicates which I am loving (and recommending) at the moment. I am wearing Suqqu Ex-02 Yosaizora on eyes, which I am obsessed about at the moment. I might need a back up of that. Suqqu eye shadows are always a little tiny, which get me stressed about hitting the pan. Never happened before but I wore it over 10 times since I got it. The plummy brown and dark blue with a hint of purple, it is as if they designed it for me! You can see the rest of the make-up I used here.

Anyhow back to the lipstick. Burberry Kisses #89 Rose Blush is like a my lips but better shade for me, which doesn't blend to nothing but great for a natural make-up day. It is when you want to look polished but not necessarily super stylish. Rose Blush is also not very long lasting but very hydrating and it has enough pigment, love it.

And the last shade, Burberry Kisses #53 Crimson Pink has more punch of color, a lovely one for a casual but stronger lip day. I paired it with Sisley Palette in Dream, which is a natural metallic palette, another piece of makeup I can't have enough. I have Chanel Angelique on my cheeks, it makes a great combo with Crimson Pink. You can see the rest of the makeup worn here. I have posted this look yesterday with Dior Nude Air Review and everyone asked about the lipstick shade, so it seems some of you like it as much as I do. Crimson Pink is my favorite of the three I have tested so far.

FOTD with Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color #53 Crimson Pink

All in all I really like Burberry Kisses formula. I find it to be hydrating and easy to wear. The pigmentation though seems to be varying within the line. Nude Pink is sheer while Crimson Pink has a good deal of color pay-off. The sheerer ones also doesn't wear long on my lips. I prefer more vivid and deeper shade of this formula. At least within the ones I have tested, these perform better.

Check out Sabrina's post from The Beauty Look Book for six of the shades. Looking at her swatches I might need bright coral. Claire from Visionary Beauty finds that the new formula accentuates her lip lines, a problem I didn't observe on me.

Final thoughts: I like the light-weight hydrating formula of new Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color. The color pay-off differs within the line. As expected, the more nude they are, the shorter they last on my lips. I like Kisses formula especially with vivid shades on me. I can't usually wear very bright lipsticks so the sheerness makes it possible. From the three colors I have tried, my favorites are Rose Blush and Crimson Pink.

Have you checked out Burberry Kisses formula yet?

  1. Would love to try this new formula, but Burberry beauty isn't available in Denmark. At that price point I would like to see the lipsticks in person ☺

By the way, I think these lipsticks is replacing til Lip Covers 😊. They look really good on you!

  2. All three look amazing on you Sara! I really like bold lip colors, but somehow, Nude Pink is calling my name. Doesn't matter if it doesn't stay on too long. Can never finish a tube of lipstick anyway. I read these are unscented. FINALLY! I really hated the Burberry lipstick scent. Blergh!

  3. I so agree about the scent. I didn't get the Christmas gold eye palette which I loved because of that scent. But overall, Burberry is a great makeup brand. And these lipsticks are lovely.

  4. In which look are you wearing Nude Dip?

  5. Lovely review! I love Rose Blush, Claret Pink and Poppy Red. I absolutely agree with you that the brighter shades in this line are better: Nude Pink and Rose Pink 1) don't do much for me and 2) wear away within the hour for me!

  6. Hey Sara, thanks for the review! I am sitting on these because so far most reviewers don't seem to think it's that great of a formula, but I might look into the brighter shades now! That red is stunning on you :)

  7. I love those ones Sara. I have five of them and I am massively enjoying them with different looks. They hydrate my lips, last and they leave a tint :) . I have darker shades mostly and want to try the lighter ones soon!

  8. Love Crimson! I have one, rose pink and it's gorgeous, but does need to be applied regularly as the wear time isn't great.

  11. These shades look great on you and glad to hear you get on with them. There is a great array of shades but I do still prefer the lip mists. Thanks for the mention :)

  12. Hi Sara,
thanks for the heads up. I am new to Burberry lipstick formulas, haven't tried Lip Covers. I hope you get Burberry soon too. Can you order from their EU website?

  13. Oh yes no scent on this one. My Lip Mist has a vanilla kind of scent but it was not too much so it didn't bother me until now but I can understand it was not pleasant to some.

  14. Thanks for pointing this out Lily! You are right this one has no scent :-)

  16. Hi Bella,
Poppy Red sounds so good. There is also a coral in the line I might have to check out. Yes the nude shades were fine but not overly exciting for me either.

  17. Hi Sunny,
there is a coral one you might want to check out.
What was the main concern about the lipstick? It doesn't have lots of slip, which I personally don't like. I liked Chanel Rouge Coco older formula for example, and I like these too. It is hydrating but not melting lol I guess this makes no sense ;-)

  18. Hi Eleni,
I think darker shades of the line is performing better, at least the ones I have tried. Would you recommend me another shade from the ones you own?

  19. Yes you guessed it right! Crimson Pink, my favorite too, nice pick!
Bright Plum, gosh, that name screams buy me! Have to check their Lip Velvets too, I love lippies with matte finishes

  20. Yes I also think wear time could be better, but the formula is really nice. Rose Pink sounds nice too.

  21. Hi Tatiana,
thanks so much. I don't usually gravitate towards such reddish shades but this one works and I love it.

  22. Lip Mists are a bit sheerer. I love sheer lipsticks but at some point I can't justify getting more of them as all look the same on my pigmented lips lol. Thanks for the great review.

  23. Hmm I think I read that it's not that hydrating and it settles into lip lines or something. I can't really remember but I was like... OK maybe not! Need to probably just get one and figure it out for myself LOL

  24. LOL, yes best to try it yourself. I find them hydrating enough for me. I don't like formulas which are over hydrating because they move around if that makes sense. It is personal preference though.

  25. I love Crimson Pink on you! I will definitely have to check these out.

  26. Ooh, Crimson Pink- so pretty! Love that it's bold and a bit more pigmented than the others :)

  28. Hi Jenni,
yes it is but yet wearable and easy to apply. It also lasts longer. I am loving it.

  29. Hi,
so you picked up Delicates! Great choice :-))
LOL yes they are really nice. I am also more for nudes but there is something about Crimson Pink, it doesn't shout but looks lovely.
