I hope you had a nice start in the week or you are ready to start tomorrow in case you were having a holiday as we did. If you follow me in Instagram, you know today I am reporting from Rome. It is one of my favorite cities in the world. It always amazes me how much history is contained in the walls as well as over and even under the ground. Italien people are always very sweet and caring and they know how to do the ice cream right! Do I need more reasons?
Now back to this beauty I got to enjoy for a few weeks now. Sisley released two eye shadow quads with their Spring/Summer Collection which joined the permanent line. Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet in #1 Dream is a harmony in warm and cool naturals, in pink, bronze, beige and brown. Today I would like to share my thoughts about it.

I have heard different opinion about the packaging. I find the black/white cover as a nice twist. The compact could be a bit slimmer but it makes it up by being sturdy and feeling very robust. It is also very easy to open and close due to the magnetized closure. All in all it is a product I wouldn't buy for the pretty packaging but it is functional. I like that the shades are arranged in an "S" inside, it looks nice and creative and the stripes doesn't wear off easily.

Now I admit there are pieces of make-up I buy just because of the pretty packaging but I am always more interested in products which actually do perform other than looking nice and pretty. The first time I swatched it, I didn't know how these will look on the eyes because Dream consist of two light and two deep shades and looks like it doesn't cover the middle range, but it turned out these can layer nicely and create mid-tones. Here are the shades it offers:
Top left: A very light metallic champagne. This one can be dusted under the brow bone, applied in the inner corner for highlight or all over the lid for an easy say look.
Top right: A very deep natural brown with saint to metallic finish. The finish of this shades is less metallic compared to others so it performs great on crease and outer corner.
Bottom left: A very deep metallic copper. A lovely shade which could be applied on its own or in combination with the other shades, all over the lid, on the crease or outer corner.
Bottom right: A light iridescent pink which has the most beautiful opalescence quality. This shade is definitely my favorite from the palette. It is gorgeous on its own and brings dimension wherever applied. It is also stunning layered over one of the deeper shades.

Swatch: Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet #1 Dream |
Each shade swatches beautifully but it is hard to understand the magic it performs on the eyes by just swatching on the hand. When I first started with the pink shade all over the lid, I was not impressed. But then went on with one of the deeper shades and I was surprised by how it layers and blends. It is one of a kind. The iridescent quality of the pink shade is more apparent when combined with the browner bronze. It also balances the warm naturals. It blends effortlessly but doesn't over blend, which seems to be hard to find even at high-end segment these days. I am usually not big on metallic finishes but these have very complex shimmer.
Below I have applied the pink in the middle of the lid, champagne at inner corner. brown and copper to the crease and outer corner as well as a touch of them to the inner third of the lid. You see the seamless effect. It looks like blended to perfection but I didn't spend more than 5 minutes on it.

You can combine Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet #1 Dream with almost all lipstick colors although I prefer it with cooler shades on cheeks and lips. Below is a natural look with nude lips and minimal cheek. The focal point is on the eyes.

FOTD: Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet #1 Dream |
I was wondering how Sisley Quartet #1 Dream compares to a similar texture, Tom Ford Wet & Dry quads. I have pulled out the legendary Enchanted and recently re-released Nude Dip to see if they share different shades.

Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet #1 Dream vs. Tom Ford Nude Dip and Enchanted |
Below you can see the light shades swatched side by side. Sisley Dream champagne shade (top left) is close to Tom Ford Nude Dip (top left) but more natural than warm. Top right shade of Nude Dip is deeper. Bottom right pink of Dream is very unique. It is not as light as the pink in Tom Ford Enchanted. I don't know if that makes sense but the pink shade in Sisley Dream has more to say.

I have also compared the deeper shades. Bottom right shade in Tom Ford Nude ip is close to the natural brown (top right) shade in Sisley Dream. Bottom left copper in Sislet Dream is warmer than any of these, including the deepest shade in Tom Ford Enchanted.

A few more notes about the formula, it is a wet & dry formula but I didn't have to apply it wet. The shades have enough color pay-off once applied dry. These are also very long lasting on me. I was especially impressed by how freshly applied it looks after 10 hours.

Also check out Sunny's review of Dream at Mostly Sunny Blog and Melanie from mel-et-fel has nice swatches and eye look with the other quad called Mystery.
Final thoughts: Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet #1 Dream has a formula which may sound trivial but it is very hard to find. It blends effortlessly, doesn't get muddy, layer beautifully and even after blending the shades the colors can be recognized. It is also very long lasting on my lids, lasts more than 12 hours without fading. I am truly, unexpectedly impressed.
Availability for Germany: Sisley can be ordered from Douglas as well as from the brand's online shop (not an affiliated link, only for your convenience).
