I hope you are all having a beautiful weekend. My weekend started certainly much better than last one. In the morning it was sunny so I could take some swatches. We just had delicious Sushi, I will write the post and exercise a little. Then we will watch a movie, probably from iTunes. Any recommendations?
Chanel recently added a new fragrance to their Chance line, Eau Vive. To celebrate this, they released a new green shade, which is matching to Chance Eau Fraiche and repromoted three other shades, #535 May, #515 Peche Nacrée and #167 Ballerina. Each shade is matchy matchy with one of the Chance fragrances. When I saw the new green, Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fricheur, I thought it was Jade revived! Many thanks to a dear friend from Taiwan, I got my paws into one. Today it is all about it.

Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur Review |
Let's start with my paws and Fraicheur. It is a lovely mint green with a hidden green shimmer, similar to Jade. The formula is great. The consistency is just right, not too thin nor thick. With one coat it is sheer but with two coats, it is perfectly opaque. It doesn't have streakiness or any of the nasty things one wouldn't wish in a nail polish. To me for such a delicate color, they got it just right. The opacity is just right, it has the sheerness to let the nice shimmer show through but at the same time it doesn't show the nail line. Big thumbs up!

Swatch: Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur |
Here is another shot with the flowers in our balcony which I am loving at the moment. See how delicate and classy it looks. Green nail polishes can easily look cheap but Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur certainly doesn't.

Swatch: Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur |
Now the swatch comparison everyone was wondering about. Notoriously hard to find #407 Jade vs. #767 Fraicheur. Jade is a little deeper, has more of the hidden shimmer and is a little more blue based than Fraicheur. On the nails they are very close though. As a test I swatched the pointer finger and the ring finger with Jade and showed it to hubby. He said not all the nails are painted with the same color but there is only a marginal difference.
I think Chanel has done it right. They didn't turn down the collectors but cheered everyone by offering a really close shade to Jade.

Comparison Swatch: Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur vs. #407 Jade |
Here is one more shot so that you can see the small differences between the shades. I like Jade a bit more but I will be using Fraicheur instead not to finish my now 2/3 full bottle ;-)

Check out Karo's beautiful swatches and comparison with Jade here.
Final thoughts: All thumbs up for the formula and the shade. Beautiful! I also love the fact that it is not an exact dupe of Jade, to which I had to pay a fortune and I am sure many collectors did that too. At the same time I am glad that it is close enough to cheer everyone else.
My only critic is about the availability. In Germany Chanel Le Vernis #767 Fraicheur is offered exclusively in Frankfurt Douglas (Zeil 98). Coincidentally I will be there on Monday for an event and will pick up a backup for myself, but... I still can't understand why it is available online in the States and in Germany we have to go to Frankfurt to get one. I am only shaking my head in disapproval. I think German fans deserve better.
Could you catch Jade? Are you getting Fraicheur? What are your thoughts about exclusivity which applies only to some countries?
