Hi everyone! I hope you had a great start in the weekend. Although there is nothing particularly exciting happened, I feel super positive and full of energy for the days to come. This might have to do with having started to exercise again. I always had the feeling that I have a more positive outlook on things if I regularly exercise. It is a good motivation to keep on moving. Plans for today is to take a few blog photos, zumba, take a shower, get pretty, go to the city to pick up a few dresses which I ordered online, try and cry (if they don't look good or if I don't fit in it), play with Chanel Les Beiges Collection at the counter, have a nice dinner in the town with hubby. That is about it, what are your plans for today?
Today I have a new lipstick formula to share with you. Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalms are already out in the States and will be available in the beginning of July in Germany. I tried two of the shades, Sweet Guava and Creamsicle during the last weeks. Here are my thoughts about them.

Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm Sweet Guava and Creamsicle |
Let's talk packaging first. Lip Parfaits come in very deep brown/burgundy cases which reminds me of Laura Mercier Cream Smooth Lip Colours but these are slimmer. The top of the lipstick is cut straight in a modern way. I don't know what you think about straight cuts but sometimes I find it hard to apply to the corners. Advantage with that is though that you have a slimmer case but still good amount of product. While Creme Smooths are $27 for 4 g/0.14 Oz ($6.75 per gram), Lip Parfaits have 3.5 g/0.12 Oz of product and cost $25 ($7.14 per gram). I believe the reason behind the price increase is that Lip Parfaits have more nourishing ingredients.
These are click closed but appears to be safe. Once you remove the cap, you can see Laura Mercier's signature on the metallic looking tube. I like this gimmick, it looks very pretty. All in all the packaging is practical, light but not cheap looking.

Lip Parfaits are released in twelve shades and all of the, will be available in Germany. Here is a list of available shades:
Cinn-ful, Amaretto Swirl, Pink Grapefruit, Sweet Guava, Raspberry Ripple, Red Velvet, Tutti Frutti, Cherries Jubilee, Iced Pomegranate, Creamsicle, Juicy Papaya, Cherry-on-top
Oh how I get hungry writing these. *winks* I tried to select colors from the promo photos but again I failed and ended up with a red which I don't think I will use all that often. Creamsicle is a gorgeous mid-toned peach. I love peach/purple combination at the moment so I reached for this one very often last week. Sweet Guava is a juicy blue based red. Both of the shades are glossy but not overly so. The swatches below are done with one pass, they are nicely pigmented and very hydrating. Just a small amount feels so creamy and hydrating over the lips.
There is a faint perfume which is something like vanilla but very subtle. There is no taste which I can detect which is great because I don't like lipsticks with taste. Now on to shades and how they wore on me.

Swatch: Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm Sweet Guava and Creamsicle |
Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Sweet Guava wouldn't be a shade I would select if I would swatch them before deciding. I was expecting a coral from the name. Anyhow I don't know why I can't make reds work on me. They drain me like no other color, although mind you I put lots of blush. I have to experience more about that, any tips are welcome. Anyhow the shade is really pretty (on others it would look much better) and it is very pigmented. My main issue with the formula is the longevity since after a coffee I need to reapply it. But with very hydrating formulas I believe it has to be expected.
You can see rest of the make-up listed here. I am wearing D&G Cream Eye Shadow in Dahlia on the eyes and Dior Tie & Die Coral Sunset (reviewed here) on the cheeks.

Now on to the one I love, Creamsicle is a perfect peachy nude to couple with a peachy purply look like the one I have here. I am wearing Suqqu Trio Ex-01 Benikakesora (reviewed here) on the eyes. I applied the deeper shade lightly all over and layered the peach in the middle. I loved this eye look I was wearing yesterday. More on what else I used here. On my cheeks I have Dior My Lady #007 which combines perfectly with Creamsicle. I believe coral/peach would be all good to go.

Final thoughts: Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalms manage to combine light and very hydrating texture with lots of pigment. I am impressed with two of the shades I tried so far, will be checking out more once they are released. If it would last a little longer, it might be my all time favorite formula but the good news is that after you apply it for the second time or blot and apply again, longevity improves a lot. All in all thumbs up!
Have you tried Laura Mercier Lip Parfaits yet? What is the hole grail hydrating/nourishing formula you are loving at the moment?
