Chanel Les Automnales Collection for Fall 2015, Eyes & Cheek Swatches & First Impressions

I hope you survived the first day of the week. They say starting is the half way to the finish, so now we are almost finished *wink wink*. On Sunday I will fly to holiday, I can't wait but I have to finish with documentation before quitting, boooh.

You might have seen that yesterday I shared some pictures of epic Chanel-heavy USA haul at Instagram and Facebook. Today I would like to write about my first impressions and show you some swatches. I started testing the eye products today so in a few days there will be full reviews. I will post about the nail polishes in a separate post. My haul concentrates on eye & cheek products since I have a strange habit of not buying lipsticks without trying. Considering that the collection will be out on the 10th of October in Germany, I will have to wait quite long before completing the look. I might just go ahead and get a few from abroad in the meanwhile.

Chanel Les Automnales Collection for Fall 2015

There are two Illusion D'Ombres which come with this collection. #97 New Moon from last year's summer collection (reviewed here) is repromoted. That one is a little bit of a glitter bomb on its own but if you add just a tiny bit over any other look, you get diamonds in your eyes, very pretty. Just to warm you though, it looks like it is not going to be re-released in Germany so you may want to call your aunt who lives in the States if you are eyeing it ;-)

Chanel Les Automnales Illusion D'Ombres, #97 New Moon, #106 Fleur de Pierre, #116 Rouge-Gorge

The black eye shadow is a new formula called Illusion D'Ombre Velvet, the shade is called #106 Fleur de Pierre. It is not a "matte" eye shadow but has considerably less shimmer compared to other Illusion D'Ombres. I am going to compare it against Mirifique later on after I wore them to test too. By the way my Fleur de Pierre came stuck to the cap, lol, this formula is really funny. I had to shake it for it to fall down in the pot. Illusion D'Ombre #116 Rouge-Gorge is not defined as "velvet" but has a similar texture to Fleur de Pierre. It is one shade I can't wait to put on my eyes. I believe it can be the killer for blue eyes. The subtle pink shimmer in this one is really gorgeous and the shade is so unique!

Another stunner of the collection is a new blush, Chanel Joues Contraste #260 Alezane. Chanel has one of my favorite blush textures and this one is just so stunning if you don't mind a little shimmer. On the cheeks the shimmer is rather subtle. In many press material the name of the blush is given as Jinsha but the number is the same so I believe we are talking about the same product. The burnt/rusty rosewood (is there a color like this?) shade is to die for, very pretty especially for Fall.

Now one piece all green eyes beauties should grab is this one here, Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in #918 Ardent, a shimmery copper. It is super pretty once applied on the waterline and it lasts all day long without fading. I am definitely getting a back-up of this one since it is limited edition. I use these eyeliners very often and in the past finished many of them.

There are two palettes in this collection. I was pondering which one to get and decided for Entrelacs because the design is so pretty, it is impossible to say no to that. It is usually easy for me to say no to a khaki quad but then I have seen swatches. That copper shade, it made my heart skip a beat...

Chanel Les 4 Ombres #254 Tissé D'Automne

Chanel Les 4 Ombres #254 Tissé D'Automne is not a classical khaki palette. It has a beautiful coppery bronze and a lovely pink so it is a very versatile pretty. As a plus it comes in one of the best formulas in the market for me right now, Chanel Tissé layers beautifully, has a very complex multi dimensional shimmer and they are usually very pigmented. I wore this one today and I am so in love. A detailer review is coming very soon.

Now on to one product which was very disappointing at the moment I swatched it. Chanel Eyeshadow Palette in Entrelacs has super pretty shades and a breathtaking beauty. But once I ran my fingers on the surface, there was almost no color. And I was really not being shy. The left most and the right most shades were the worst in terms of color pay-off. I am guessing, there might be a preserving overspray to that, similar to the one over the Spring Blush Camelia Rose (reviewed here) for the pattern not to get lost after the first usage. I hope that is the case because I buy make-up to use, not to watch. The below swatches are with multiple (10?) swipes! I will report on that after I try it on my eyelids. Meanwhile check out the review of Linda here. She seems to like it, so this gives me hope *winks*

Final thoughts: As for the first impressions, Tissé D'Automne Quad and Alezane Blush are to die for together with the Stylo Jeux #918 Ardent, the latter being especially flattering for green eyes. Eyeshadow Palette in Entrelacs is super pretty in the pan but once swatched, it was rather disappointing. I am hoping it will apply better than it swatches. I will report back soon once I get these all around my eyes ;-)

What are you eyeing from this collection?
