Weekend is over, boo! It didn't really feel weekend for me though. I was trying to organize a few things before my last day at work which is tomorrow. Maybe it is time to tell where I am going? I was planning to write a full post on that, which I will probably still do after checking out how it goes this week and next week. During the transition phase it is a bit busy and I want to take my time to reflect upon the things which pushed me away from corporate world. This is a make-up blog after all but I shared so much with you and I am hoping to go on with that.
Now to spill the beans, I got a professor position at a local applied university. Some of you might know that I was teaching as an additional job to my full-time one. I really loved what I was doing. I also felt like I couldn't select the direction my research would go in the company so this looked like a good step to take. As for the blog front, I might be a bit slow at times when I am teaching which will be my priority but I intend to keep on posting. I am hoping at least... I think we will see how it goes. I am definitely seeing myself cutting my ties to some of the brands which take more time and energy than the things they bring to the blog. I will go on with my favorite brands, ones which inspire me and appreciate the work I am putting in the blog. Keyword is to relax by blogging, not stress and believe me it is not easy sometimes.
More on that soon, back to make-up. Today I have two stunning blue nail polishes by Chanel. These are a part of Blue Notes Collection which makes my music loving heart skip a beat. The collection just arrived to our shores so I will be seeing the other products in person this week. As for now, in the name of reviewing all Chanel n/ps released, here is my review and comparisons of Chanel Le Vernis #665 Vibrato and #681 Fortissimo.

Chanel Le Vernis #665 Vibrato, #681 Fortissimo for Blue Notes Collection |
Chanel Le Vernis #681 Fortissimo is a deep blue with metallic finish. The formula and consistency is great. In two coats it is perfectly opaque. I think Chanel nail polishes got much better in terms of intensity during the last year. Am I the only one who feels that way? Since the blue is very deep and intense, it doesn't look overly metallic like Bel-Argus, it also doesn't product brush strokes. I really like the color but feel like it is not that unique after all. I love the fact that it is not blackened though.

Chanel Le Vernis #665 Vibrato is a true stunner. This is one shade you should't miss and I will tell you why when I am showing you the comparisons. It is a gorgeous vibrant cobalt blue with cream finish. The consistency and formula is perfect. I wore this for 4 days, it only had minor tip wear. And everyone was commenting on my nails (in a good way!). Big love this one, a must-have for me. Below I am wearing two coats.

Swatch: Chanel Le Vernis #665 Vibrato |
I pulled out quiet a number of blues from my stash to compare with both of these beauties. #681 Fortissimo is deep but not blackened which makes it a nice one within deep metallic blues. YSL #51 Bleu Cyclades is cooler, Chanel #667 Bel-Argus (reviewed here) is lighter and cooler, Tom Ford #34 Indigo Night (reviewed here) is deeper and more blackened, YSL #17 Bleu Cobalt is deeper as well. I didn't include Dior #791 Darling Blue but it is lighter and cooler, like YSL Bleu Cyclades.
Chanel #665 Vibrato is a vibrant blue, which is unique to my collection. I have seen some swatches showing it as a dupe to Dior #606 Electric Blue but you can see that they are very different. Electric Blue is lighter and cooler. YSL #18 Bleu Majorelle (sorry the number is wrong below in the photo) is very close to Dior Electric Blue but therefore not very much like the intense gorgeous Vibrato. Dior #700 Sailor is also lighter and cooler but it is the closest what I have in my collection. In short: Vibrato is to die for!

Check out Sunny's blog for more swatches of this collection. Karo also has beautiful swatches of nail polishes.
Final thoughts: I am loving both of the nail polishes of Chanel Blue Notes Collection. #681 Fortissimo is a nice deep metallic blue which is not too blackened but the really unique beauty of the two is #665 Vibrato. If you will get one nail polish this season and you like blue, don't miss Vibrato.
Did you end up getting anything from Blue Notes de Chanel? What is your favorite item?
