Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01, Creamy Glow Lipstick #13 Akanebara for Fall 2015, Review, Swatch & FOTD

Hi from holidays *waves*.

I would like to start by thanking to everyone from the bottom of my heart. Especially to those who left comments on the last post. I am replying them slowly, taking my time. It might have seemed like I needed some attention but it was really a moment of frustration when I started writing all about it. Believe it or not after about half an hour I even considered to delete the rant part of the post because I found it so unprofessional of me but even after a few minutes there were such sweet and encouraging comments from all around the world, it truly made my day. Blogging is a hobby for me, I never thought to make money from this but if I am putting so much effort into something everyone finds terrible, well, it was time to reconsider. Especially with the job change, but this is a topic of another post.

Instead today I have something very pretty for you. I have been cheering for Suqqu Fall Collection, you can read my previous posts here and here. Today's post is supposed to be the last post at least until I return from holiday and get my hands on the khaki palette which I am missing at the moment (can't sleep! ;-)). I am also eyeing the plump lipstick. Today it is about Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 and the super gorgeous clear bordeaux lipstick Creamy Glow Lipstick #13 Akanebara.

Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01

Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 comes in a two tier palette. The first layer has a brush for touch ups on the go. I believe the brush is made of goat. On the second layer the pan is divided in a beautiful way. Left side (denoted with #1 below) is Nuance Cheek Color to give a flush on the cheeks and the right side (#2) is Nuance Face Color to brighten up the face. Please excuse me for the super cheesy scenery with the flowers here but I couldn't help it when one of the peonies didn't want to bloom so tore it apart for the name of the blog as it seemed like the perfect color for this blush!

Close-up: Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01

Suqqu blushes are usually soft and Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 is no exception. Since my cheeks are usually without any flush and my complexion is light to medium, they all show nicely on me. Also I am not a lover of over blushing because it doesn't suit with my face shape, so I personally love that they show up just enough for a healthy flush of color and it is hard to overdo in the morning. It makes me loose up to 5 minutes if I overdo.

That said if you like more color on your cheeks or if you prefer your blush pigmented, these are no for you. Also starting from medium skin tone this would rather make a face powder but the blush might not show up. I swatched both shades separately and mixed. I like to use #2 for face and #1 show up nicely on me. I love the fact that #1 has a cool tone which is very close to my natural flush. Needless to say, I love this palette which fits to my complexion perfectly.

Swatch: Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01

Here is a look which I will post the details about later this week. I am wearing Chanel Entralacs palette on Chanel Rouge-Gorge (review) base on the eyes. On my lips I have one of the Lancome Shine Lover shades, review is coming up soon. The texture of Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 is very finely milled, buttery to touch but not powdery. It is a dream to work with. I recommend you check it out in case you think it shows on your complexion.

FOTD: Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01

Now one of my favorite items of Suqqu Fall 2015 Collection, that lippie! *drums* Especially if you love moody shades but you are searching for something which is casual, easy to swipe and go, here comes your shade. Creamy Glow Lipstick #13 Akanebara (deep red rose) is a berry bordeaux with semi-matte finish and a certain transparency which can be build up but it makes it casual and chic. So in love with this one.

Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipstick #13 Akanebara for Fall 2015

You have seen me wearing Akanebara in this FOTD together with Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadow Ex-26 Yuuaoi in this FOTD. Since Akanebara is not too dense and opaque, it goes with almost all the eye looks without it becomes all too much.

Final thoughts: The texture of Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 is a dream. If you are deeper than medium skin tone though, it might not show up on you. I am enjoying both the face and the cheeks colors on my complexion very much. Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipstick #13 Akanebara is one of my favorite items of this collection, along with Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadow 20 Kaoribara. You can see me wearing them together here. If you can get your hands on this collection, I recommend getting both. Akanebara is casual, chic and perfect for Fall.

Availability: Suqqu Fall Collection will be released on the 14th of August at Selfridges and 28th of August at other stores in UK. Suqqu is available in-store at Fenwick of Bond Street, Harrods, Selfridges and Selfridges online.

What is your favorite Fall lip color?

  1. Hey Sara, I think it's only healthy to vent from time to time! You're not one of those bloggers who spit venom on a daily basis (I can't handle that much negativity LOL), so I think it is 100% justified!

I like how this blush looks. It shows up really nicely on you, but I wonder if it'd look that way on me. For autumn, my favorite lipstick is most probably berry! This one looks like something I'd enjoy :)

  2. Ooooh this blush is super pretty. Don't let a couple of haters with nothing better to do than bitch and hide behind their screens get you down. You are gorgeous and your blog is always a joy to read.

  3. I've been following you for some time now and I love your reviews! I always consider your opinion before I buy anything! Thank you for all the hard work, time, and money you put into this blog. It truly is amazing. Haters are going to hate. Sending love from Illinois!

  5. It is fine to vent-- you are among friends. What's more we love your blog and would rather you vent than (horrors) stop blogging. We rely on your opinion and love how you show the makeup. And these two products are gorgeous. That lipstick shade would go with everything. And I am very tempted by the blush as well. I love the combination of the blush with powder because I mostly use powder to set eye concealer and with this product one could go seamlessly with both. Plus, luckily, this one would show up on me for sure.

  6. Hi Sara, thank you for another great review. I am sorry to hear you ve had some rude comments . I am always grateful for your reviews and beautiful photos. I have bought many great products thanks to your recommendations and learned some new ways to apply eyeshadow (even though my results aren't as good as yours :)). You have introduced me to Suqqu. Even though I'd seen it in Sefridges I didn't really know anything about the brand, so it is only after reading your reviews and seeing your photos that I was tempted. Enjoy your holiday.

  7. I'm hoping you still have time to blog after your job change because yours is one of my favorite blogs to read!
Oh, this is so pretty. There is no place to find Suqqu products near me. My husband is going to Tokyo the first week in September and I am hoping that these are not sold out before he's able to find them.

  8. Hello Sara,

Oh my word, that Suqqu Cheek & Face Colour Palette Ex-01 is calling my name--seriously. Shade #2 is exactly what I've been looking for--too bad we don't have a Suqqu counter here in the States. However, you bet your sweet bippy I will be doing some serious research. The lippie looks super wearable and perfect for your face. My favorite fall lip color is a bit more intense (Lipstick Queen Entourage), but as I'm getting older, I find myself craving softer reds. Fantastic as usual.

  9. Ooh, is that soft pink color of the Suqqu ever pretty! I am so envious that you have a ton of pretty stuff in your collection. I have but one Suqqu palette...and I begged my sister to pick it up for me when she was in Thailand. :) Just loving all your posts lately!
