Dior Vernis #558 Tribale, #552 Smile, #868 Wonderful, #892 Be Dior for Addict Collection, Review, Swatch & Comparison

I hope you are all having a beautiful week. Mine started great but today a few things happened, which made me take a deep breath. I still feel nothing can really spoil my new job new life kind of mood. On the job front it is going great so far so I won't let blog things spoil that. Rant or not rant or not... No not today! :-)

Dior recently released a whole bunch of Dior Addict Lippies. These look like the ones from Tie & Dye Collection of this summer but in one full color. They are sheer and have a shine to them, some of the shades are more pigmented than the others. I am eyeing one plum/purple shade from the line-up but didn't have time to go and try it on. On my very brief visit to the counter, I picked up the limited edition nail polishes, Dior Vernis #558 Tribale, #552 Smile, #868 Wonderful and #892 Be Dior, which I would like to show you today.

Dior Vernis #558 Tribale, #552 Smile, #868 Wonderful, #892 Be Dior

I have mentioned in the past that Dior's nail polishes started to be very predictable and boring but this release has four of them with gorgeous micro shimmer, which doesn't only give them something super pretty to look at in the bottle but also they look much more complex and beautiful on the nails. Spoiler: I love all four!

Dior Vernis #588 Tribale is a mid-toned rosewood nude with beautiful golden micro shimmer. It is a very flattering nude for fall, it is there but doesn't take all the attention. Two coats are perfectly opaque and the consistency is exactly right. The balance between cool and warm is great in this color, I believe it will look good on a wide range of skin tones.

I was thinking there has to be a shade which is very close to the base color of Tribale but I was wrong. Chanel #521 Rose Cache and #663 Lovely Beige (reviewed here) are both lighter and warmer. Chanel #491 Rose Confidential is close but warmer, pulls more brown. Chanel #579 Paparazzi (reviewed here) is deeper and pulls more red. Guerlain #602 Tonka Imperial (reviewed here) is close but slightly deeper and warmer. Tom Ford #24 Black Sugar (reviewed here) is deeper.

Dior Vernis #552 Smile is a gorgeous orangy coral. It is so summery that I was very surprised to see this coming up for Fall. Nevertheless I love me a nice coral and Smile makes me smile with its golden micro shimmer and perfect formula. It is perfectly opaque in two coats as I am wearing in the photo. Had it been released for summer, I would have definitely taken this with me to the holidays and rock it on the beach. Now that I have a bit of tan going on, it looks especially gorgeous.

Dior #552 Smile is unique with its golden micro shimmer but the base shade is close to a few shades I have in my stash. Chanel #623 Mirabella (reviewed here) comes very close, although it is a tad more orange. Chanel #307 Orange Fizz is slightly more pink but very close too. Both of these are straight creams so you can still justify getting Smile even if you have them.

Other shades I have compared Smile to are: Dior #457 Bouquet (reviewed here) which is more pink, Chanel #203 Miami Peach is also cooler, pinkier. Tom Ford Coral Beach (reviewed here) is also more pink, Dior #237 Milly is more orange.

Dior Vernis #868 Wonderful may look like your everyday red but the bright but wearable tone and its red/pink micro shimmer is to die for. I love how classical yet unique it is. It may come to one of my all time favorite reds, Chanel Rouge Carat (comparisons below). I might even be loving Dior wonderful more. Time will tell. Again great consistency, applies like a dream, opaque in two coats as applied below.

I tried to pick up reds with micro shimmer from my collection. Comparison of reds to reds can be very tricky and time consuming, I hope this gives you an idea. Chanel #677 Rouge Rubis has a close base color but the pink micro shimmer makes Wonderful appear cooler. Chanel #671 Ecorce Sanguine (reviewed here) also has lovely micro shimmer but it is much deeper. Dior #758 Victoire (reviewed here) is brighter. Chanel #587 Rouge Carat is cooler.

The last one, Dior Vernis #892 Be Dior, is my favorite of the four, but for obvious reasons. Because it is a plum/purple! This is so so gorgeous. I am wearing it for the past five days and I am considering to reapply hah! Anyway I just would like to say, even if you don't like purples, I suspect you might like this one because it not too cool. I would describe it as a modern version of a red nail polish. It gives the chic and timeless look of a red but it is a plum. Does that make sense? Be Dior has more of a reddish base but bluish shimmer. The shimmer in that one is more faint in the bottle but on the nails you can tell that it is not a straight cream although you can't put your finger on it (but you can put this one on your finger, haha!)

Anyway, have I told you how much I love it?

Here are a few(!) close shades from my purple/plum heavy stash. Chanel #609 Coup de Couer (reviewed here) is slightly warmer and straight cream. You can see the difference between the two, Be Dior reflects light in a much more elegant way than a straight cream. Chanel #339 Cassis is lighter, Tom Ford #08 African Violet is cooler. Dior #338 Mirage (reviewed here) is also cooler. Dior #988 Diorette (reviewed here) is warmer, Chanel #599 Provocation, Dior #992 Galaxy (reviewed here) and Chanel #121 Mythe are all much deeper.

Final thoughts: All four of the new (and limited) nail polish shades of Dior have gorgeous micro shimmer which makes them look complex and beautiful on the nails. The consistency and formula is perfect and consistent throughout this release. My favorite is Be Dior but it is only because I die for shades like that. I am loving all four. Big thumbs up!

Have you checked the collection out? Are you eyeing any of the lippies or nail polishes?
