Tom Ford Cream and Powder Duo Night Sky from Noir Collection for Holiday 2015, Review, Swatch, FOTD & Comparison

I hope you are having a wonderful week. Today (starting from tonight) was that time of the month for me again. Sorry for too much information but hey, do you have the same problem? I get so clumsy, like literally drop everything I have in my hand on the ground. Today I was preparing a Sisley blog post and the eye crayon dropped all the way to the ground. Needless to say it was a big mess. And for this blog post when I opened the package I was super happy to get the Cream & Powder Duo in perfect shape, not touching the cap, perfectly aligned. That was until I dropped it today haha! Anyway if that happens to you, just tap it on the table a few times and it realigns.

I am super excited to share the rest of the Tom Ford Holiday Collection Items with you today. You can see my swatches and comparison of Black Out Nail Lacquer here. I have previously reviewed First Time Lipstick, which comes in a special lined case for this collection here. This is why today I would like to concentrate on Cream & Powder Eye Shadow Duo in Night Sky. A spoiler, it is as smoky as it gets. Ready? *jumps*

Tom Ford Cream & Powder Duo Night Sky, First Kiss and Black Out from Noir Collection for Holiday 2015

On my sample the name of the product is not written but when I opened and swatched it I cheered "it is like night sky!". The name is so appropriate. "Night Sky" is a combination of a very deep navy blue metallic cream and a very deep navy blue powder with multi colored shimmer. The shimmer in both of them are out of this world stunning. This is what makes a high-end make up high end. Once you layer them, it becomes even more stunning since the cream base enhances the multi colored shimmer. They are certainly like stars on a night sky since the shimmer is fine but not too tiny.

Swatch: Tom Ford Cream and Powder Duo Night Sky, cream, powder and layered.

The base can be sheered out and can be worn on its own for a less glam more daily look but be aware whatever you do, the glam won't leave you. Night Sky is not for the faint hearted, it is for the smoky lovers. It will especially enhance the brown eyes and make them pop but all other smoky lovers are definitely invited to the party in case you can't miss the stars twinkling on your eye lids.  It is hard to capture the effect. Below I applied the cream eye shadow all over the eye lid and layered it with the powder. I blended the edges with a clean brush and later on with MAC Omega. I highlighted the inner corner with MAC Blanc Type

Some of you may remember Black Oyster from Tom Ford Summer Collection (previously reviewed here). Here is a comparison of the two, they are very different. Black Oyster is has more sparkle which are more uniform. It gives a grey smoky eye with lots of glitter. Night Sky on the other hand has more sparse shimmer, which are more colored and only show themselves with certain light, the base is blue. These two are not similar. If you own one, you can justify getting the other.

Here is the look in context. I am wearing Tom Ford Cream & Powder Duo Night Sky on the eyes, Tom Ford Cheek Color Frantic Pink on the cheeks, Tom Ford Matte Lip Color First Time on the lips. My shirt is from S. Oliver Premium, my earrings are a birthday present from lovely Hara who comments here as HarPer, thanks so much to her once more for these, I am loving them and received many compliments with them yay!

FOTD with Tom Ford Cream and Powder Duo Night Sky and Matte Lip Color First Time

All in all I could go to work like that, I hope I didn't shock my colleagues. If you are usually wearing natural eye shadows, Night Sky might be best to use at night or on a special occasion. With Noir Collection, Mr. Ford wants us all glammed up. Who can blame him, it is holiday season after all.
