I hope you are having a wonderful week. The fear which terror feeds goes on in Europe. Today a football game was evacuated in Germany. I am sincerely hoping that the fear doesn't get the best of us. It would be such a pity to see Christmas Markets empty *frowns*.
Talking about Christmas, I am on the mission to review each and every pretty Christmas Palette out there for you. Today I have Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Eye Palette, the star of Sterling Nights Holiday Collection. Hard to believe but this is the first time I am reviewing a Bobbi Brown Palette for you. I was lusting over a few in the last months, including Greige so today I am excited to share my thoughts on this one.

Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Eye Palette for Holiday 2015 |
The packaging looks and feels luxurious. It is made of sturdy plastic which feels heavy but not too much which makes it good for traveling too. The closure is magnetic and it feels safe. On the lid Bobbi Brown logo is stamped and the corners have a silver look to that. The silver theme goes on inside the compact, around the eye shadows. I am loving the fact that there is no unnecessary brush nor applicator inside the palette so that the full space is used for what it is meant to be, eye shadows!

Inside the compact there are nine eye shadows of generous amount. My sample didn't come up with a box so I am not sure about the weight of each but I can see that there is eye shadow to last you a life time in there. I love the fact that Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Palette doesn't have a glitter shade because I end up not using those all that much. I can say that pretty much every shade in the palette is wearable and I can see how I would use them for myself. All in all the palette is cool toned but there are a few warm shades to balance it all out. There is also a good variation of finishes, which makes it all very versatile.

The shades included in the palette are as follows:
Top left: A very light ivory with matte finish. This shade is great to run all over the eye lid to blend easily or ro use above the crease to blend and below the brown bone to highlight.
Top center: A very light champagne shade with shimmery finish. This is a great highlighter shade on the face or under the brown bone.
Top right:A light grey taupe with shimmery finish. This shade is so soft that it crumbles a bit if swatched with fingers but it applies beautifully with a brush. It is a great understated cool natural to apply all over the lid.
Middle left: A light to mid-toned matte ashy contour shade which I love. Each palette should have one of these shades. It gives the most natural crease or can be run under the eye for a soft shadow.
Middle center: A very light natural pink with shimmery finish. I especially love this shade for inner corner highlight but it is great all over the lid alike.
Middle right: A mid-toned bronzy brown with satin to shimmery finish. This shade balances out the coolness of the palette in a nice way. I love it applied all over or on the crease for definition.
Bottom left: A festive shade for a holiday palette is a must. This one has a gunmetal base and beautifully complex fine glitter on top. Once it catches light, it twinkles, very pretty.
Bottom center: A very deep matte black, one of the best quality I have seen. This can be used as a liner or to add a bit more intensity to any of the shades in the palette.
Bottom right: The most amazing metallic color I have come across in the recent months. This is a pewter shade with a touch of green/yellow, pulls in all different interesting direction according to light and skin tone. This shade is utter perfection *happy sigh*.

Swatch: Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Eye Palette for Holiday 2015 |
I would post this review already yesterday but I needed to get a photo with the metallic pewter shade (bottom right) to make the review complete. I used it all over the lid and deepened the crease with bronzy brown (middle right). Isn't this such an easy but lovely look? I was wearing it today, it didn't fade a bit at 14 hours mark, super impressed.

Here is another eye look with Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Eye Palette. For this one I used the gunmetal based shimmery shade (bottom left) on the inner and outer corner. I added the grey taupe (top right) in the middle. I then blended so there are no harsch lines but the effect of inner and outer darkness persist.

Here is the look in context. I am wearing Burberry First Kiss Lipgloss in Sweet Plum on the lips (review is coming up). By the way on the photo you can also see my hair after hair dresser. It looks a bit different now since I washed and styled it myself though. Anyway, very boring hair really, nothing exciting about it.

Here is a last look and a few more application notes. Some of the shades are hard to layer and some of the shades are very low key, meaning although it makes the lids nice and smooth, it lacks some for me. 2 out of 9 shades are like this. The matte formula is amazing and the rest is to die for. If you like cool naturals, would like a sound investment, here is your palette, for a whooping 80€. Does it worth it? Considering that you are getting a generous amount of product, a luxurious package and top performance as well as different finishes, you might find yourself splurging. It is seriously understatedly gorgeous.

Final thoughts: A luxurious treat, definitely an expensive one but the quality is top. I am loving the packaging because it is chic and luxurious. I love the fact that it doesn't have brush or applicator and uses the space effectively. The eye shadows have a range of different finishes which makes the palette very versatile. All in all a lovely palette which is not only for holidays but for everyday as well.
