I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Ours is a little stressful due to the leakage problem in the flat which is right under ours. Although we don't have leakage of any sort, somehow our super nice neighbors would like to fix theirs by digging in our flat, which we would like to avoid after an expert told us it is possible to repair the pipe from below. Since they are not happy with us not letting them "dig" in our flat, as a response they did a nasty game and cut our warm water for the weekend! I can't see why someone would do something like this to their neighbors. I am super disappointed but at the same time, we found fun ways to spice up our shower, with buckets of warm water, "hammam style" LOL! The war goes on on Monday, I am not looking forward to it.
I received some pink bits from upcoming MAC Collections. Flamingo Park is already released in the States and will be in Europe around the beginning of March. Velvetease Lip Pencils are right now available online in Germany. These will reach the stores during the next week. Here are my thoughts about MAC Eyeshadow Bird's Eye View, Cremesheen Glass Sweet Tooth, Velvetease Lip Pencil Tease Me.

I would like to start with pointing out to a fact that, I am confused with MAC Eyeshadow in Bird's Eye View. In the States, it is released as one of the shades in Flamingo Park x9 Eye Shadow Palette but I don't see this being available in a separate pan. If you look at the promo photos here, the model is definitely wearing this one all over the eye lid with some other shades here and there so I am happy to be able to lay my hands on this very unique shade for eyes but the mystery remains unsolved. Will it be available as a separate shade to Europe? It is very hard to get any answer from MAC PR so I guess we will wait and see.
MAC Cremesheen Glasses have one of my favorite lipgloss formulas. I am loving the one I got from Heirloom back then, called Courting Chic (reviewed here), it is such a pretty red. MAC Cremesheen Glass in Sweet Tooth is the perfect warm pink for everyday use. It is perfect if you go heavy on the eyes or if you are opting for a natural make-up. I found Cremesheens to be longer lasting on the lips without being sticky. Much recommended for gloss girls. There are five new shades in the collection, mostly pinks.

I am big on matte lips so I was excited to try Velvetease Lip Pencils. These are twist open lip pencils with are not too thick so it is easy to apply precisely. Unfortunately this particular shade, Tease Me, is terrible in terms of color and also formula. It looks very dry on the lips and feels that way. It is also kind of transparent so looks unevenly applied. You won't see any FOTDs with this one, because I can't see me wearing it. It is interesting to see that this is the only shade which is sold out online in Germany at the moment. I can't understand why. I am hoping the other pencils are better in quality. I will check them out in person at the counter next time I visit.

MAC Eyeshadow Bird's Eye View is very dry and rather patchy too but since the color is so crazy and fun, I can live with that. Here is a rabbit eye look using Bird's Eye View on the eyes and on the cheeks. It is fun to use it all over the face. Since the shade is very vibrant and not too red but more pink, it doesn't give me the sick look. I could even go with less black around the eyes but I was tempted somehow. I added a close sister of MAC Expensive Pink called Artistic License (reviewed here) on the inner corner for some change. I deepened the crease with MAC Quarry.

I am really loving the MAC Creme Sheen in Sweet Tooth. I love the name too lol. Here I am also wearing Dior Highlighter in Glowing Nude which is super pretty (reviewed here). I am definitely recommending Burberry Effortless Khols. The one I have in black is superb. I don't know of any other black which is so creamy and easy to apply while staying in place all day long. I have it in Jet Black which you can see in this photo. I will definitely get Pale Grape too.

Final thoughts: I don't know if Bird's Eye View Eyeshadow will be released separately in Europe but it is an interesting shade for eyes and cheeks. It is just a little dry because of its matte formula. From MAC's matte eyeshadows, I prefer Matte 2 formula. I am loving Cremesheen in Sweet Tooth, a super pretty peachy pink. Velvetease Lip Pencil in Tease Me is very dry and disappointing. I am hoping the other shades are better.
Do you like wearing shades of pink in Spring?

Eine tolle Auswahl! Steht dir alles wirklich ausgezeichnet! Ich hatte letztens nach Infos gefragt und scheinbar wird es den Lidschatten auch hier geben :)
ReplyDeleteDie Produkte sprechen mich spontan sehr an. Allerding finde ich es schade, dass der Lip Pencil so eine unschöne Textur hat. Die Lidschattenfarbe ist in der Tat mal etwas Anderes :)
ReplyDeleteThat pink looks wonderful on you! Love it. I probably can't pull it off -- except as a blush. I also love the Burberry Khols-- despite all the Chanel Yeux styles, I find I wear the Burberrys more often-- at least half the time. Did not realize they had a deep purple. Christine at Temptalia gave them a lower rating than what she gave the black and the brown which I have. Please let us know if you like the formula on the Grape.
ReplyDeleteI heard that the palette wasn't going to be sold in Europe, that they would be selling the singles instead. And I also love Courting Chic, its a gorgeous red!! I just recently started buying Burberry and I love them! I'm going to be checking out their Khol liners :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your review. I don't think I could pull any of these colours off. Sorry to hear about your problems with the neighbors. I hope it all gets sorted out soon without problems for you.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I know you are very busy but may I ask if you'll be reviewing any more Spring products from Suqqu. I know that this collection goes on sale on Thursday at Selfridges. I'm planning on buying the powder and Ex-28. I'm also considering the Eye Colour Palette Ex-06 but if you've got it I was hoping to hear your opinion before purchasing. Thanks.:)
Thanks so much Anne, the review is now up. Let me know what you are getting :-)
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could wear pink eyeshadow. It eats the skin off my eyelids! The colors are all so pretty. I am jealous!!
