I hope you are having a wonderful week. After a whole week wasted for some unknown reason, I came to my senses and managed to motivate myself at home. It was not easy but it worked, probably due to pressure. I hate getting motivated with pressure but it is the most effective way, isn't it? Oh and I also brought my bag back today to show and I was told Burberry doesn't repair bags but they don't know what they do with them. We will see. They told me usually there is not complaints about any bags they sold, I was very unlucky. I am hoping that is true.
Talking about Burberry, I have the most gorgeous highlighters of the year in terms of design and performance. It must sound like a spoiler but I am officially in love. I today had it on my face and cheek bones, it is so stunning. But let me go into a bit more detail about Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palettes #01 White, #02 Nude Gold as well as Burberry Eye Colour Cream #121 Nude Gold and Effortless Blendable Kohl #03 Golden Brown. There are also three nail polishes in the collection, Stone, a repromote and two new shades #440 Optic White and #304 Black Cherry. I will write about the nails in a separate post.

Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palettes, Cream Color Eyeshadow in Nude Gold, Kohl in Golden Brown |
The star of the collection is without a doubt two highlighting powders, Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palettes #01 White and #02 Nude Gold. The embossment on these are inspired by the lace fabrics on this year's show. Lace reminded me of Chanel Dentelle Precieuse Highlighting Powder (reviewed here) from a couple of years ago. Although I loved Dentelle Precieuse, I found it a bit too dark for my skin tone as a highlighter, it almost worked as a bronzer. Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palettes come in two wearable shades for fair and medium complexions and the gorgeous lace doesn't get destroyed by the first usages, yay!

Here are some close-ups to the lovely lace patterns as well as to the Cream Eye Colour Nude Gold and Effortless Blendable Kohl in Golden Brown which I used on the eyes for the look. If you watch the video of How to Create Burberry Velvet & Lace Spring/Summer 2016 Look here, you will see that Wendy Rowe uses only Face contouring sticks on the eye lids and nothing else. I went ahead and combined the kohl and the cream eyeshadow and I love the results.

Close-Up: Burberry Runway Palettes, Cream Color Eyeshadow in Nude Gold, Kohl in Golden Brown |
Here are some swatches for your reference. Effortless Blendable Kohl #03 Golden Brown is all kinds of beautiful in finish. This one smudges so easily that it can as well be applied all over the lid and blended even with fingers. I like this one more as a crease and definition color than a liner. I personally need a thin but more intense liner around my eyes.
The palettes are very pigmented, the color applies and blends beautifully. I can't comment on how the pores look before and after because I don't have that many pores (if any) but I can tell that it can be built up to a very dense highlighter or can be applied with a light hand so these should be very wearable across skin types and tones. Eye Color Cream #121 is a very light transparent neutral golden shade so I was surprised to see how much it showed on my eye lids. This one has a very complex beautiful shimmer to it which is not over the top but adds a little bit of something, very very pretty.

Swatch: Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palettes, Cream Color Eyeshadow in Nude Gold, Kohl in Golden Brown |
For the eye look I applied Cream Eyeshadow Nude Gold all over the lid and intensified it on the crease and outer corner by Effortless Blendable Kohl #03 Golden Brown. It was so easy to blend these two and I think the end result is really stunning. I then lined my eyes with Burberry Effortless Kohl Eyeliner in Jet Black. I am drying to get Pale Grape of that one and I was at the counter today to check it out. I was unlucky though because the tester was all used up so I couldn't try it, booh. I tried the Brown one though, I think I will get that one. It is so creamy, neutral (not warm) and very dark. I really liked it.

In-action: Burberry Cream Color Eyeshadow in Nude Gold, Effortless Blendable Kohl in Golden Brown |
Here is my Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway look without the runway *winks*. I used Lip Velvet in Damson together with Burberry Lip Definer in Bright Plum (both reviewed here) because I don't have Oxblood which was used on the models. Oxblood is on my wishlist forever, I love Burberry Lip Velvets so much! On the top of my cheek bones I am wearing Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palette in White which I applied heavily and it is hard to miss although usually camera doesn't pick up highlighters unless I am moving or the light is hitting on my cheek bone. I used the Highlighter in Nude Gold all over my face for a flow, it really works beautifully.

FOTD: Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway |
Here is another look to the pretties just to remind you how irresistible they are. Nail polish post with swatches and comparisons will be up soon. The highlighter are much better than the other beauty I got to try this year, Chanel's Perles Et Fantaisies (reviewed here) which is much subtler and the powder is rather hard on top layers. If I were to pick up one, I would certainly go for Burberry. Also if you are very fair, don't miss the white powder. We know that to find something that light is very hard.

Final thoughts: I am in love with both of the powders beyond words. The packaging and embossment are simply perfect. The design doesn't disappear even after some usages although the top layer is not hard to preserve the design. These can be build up to a full on highlighter or can be applied sheerly. Cream Eye Shadow in Nude Gold was a surprise favorite since I didn't think it would show up on my eyelids but it did. Together with Effortless Blendable Kohl in Golden Brown, I am loving the result. Thumbs up!
Which beautiful highlighter you dared to use and loved using?
