Due to long weekend, tomorrow is the first work day in Germany but for those of you who are not here, I hope that you had a great start in the week. I have to still get a few things ready for tomorrow, that will be after the post *winks*
This Fall Guerlain released a new formulation of their light to medium coverage foundation Lingerie de Peau. With the same release, a new concealer called Multi-Perfection is also added to the line as well as a Foundation Brush. I have been testing all three for some months now so I would like to share my thoughts with you.
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation, Multi-Perfection Concealer and Foundation Brush |
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation comes in a glass bottle, matching to the design of the bottles of new Parure Gold Foundation (reviewed here) generation, sleeker and more compact. It has an airless pump applicator which works great to dispense different amounts of product. The black cap is made of plastic and has a golden Guerlain logo on top. I like the fact that the transparent glass bottle shows how much more product left since with the black packaging of Parure Gold it is a bit tricky to understand.
Guerlain describes the finish as "Natural Perfection Skin-Fusion Texture". It is supposed to be light and look like skin. I have normal to dry skin for your reference. I would describe the finish as natural matte. The light reflecting quality of Parure Gold is more impressive but Lingerie de Peau manages to look very natural while being a little matte if that makes sense. While doing that, it doesn't look powdery on my dry patches but it is not dewy either. I can see that working on normal to combination skin with a little bit of powdering as well. I don't have to apply powder on top but I sometimes do just to make it last a little longer.
I think the most impressive thing about Lingerie de Peau is that it can be build up to medium coverage without getting cakey in any means. I add and add more and it looks natural. Thumbs up on that. It has SPF20 and the sun blocking ingredient, Titanium Dioxide is Nano. It also has alcohol up in the ingredient list and some fragrance although it is not strong. I usually take photos of the ingredient list but after a small break of blogging it seems I forgot some of the tricks. In case any one if interested, I will add it later on.
Before/After FOTD with Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation and Multi-Perfection Concealer |
Above you can see me wearing shade Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation #03N Natural on my face and Multi-Perfection Concealer 03 Medium Warm under the eyes. The shade is very dark for my usual complexion but thanks to my holiday now it is a match. I believe my winter face would be #01N. I love the fact that now Guerlain has three different undertones available for each shade, cool, neutral and warm. Definitely more brands should follow this, I am looking at you Dior and Chanel.
Below I made some comparison of the foundation and concealer shade for your reference. Guerlain Parure Gold 02 is just a little lighter, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is also a tone lighter. I believe 03N is close to Chanel B30 which I didn't have to compare. I also added the deepest foundation I have, YSL Fusion Ink, which was a wrong sample back at the time. I can't believe that BR50 is the most sold shade of Fusion Ink in Germany. You see even in my totally tanned state, it is too deep for me.
Swatch Comparison: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation, Multi-Perfection Concealer |
Now a few words about Guerlain Multi-Perfection Concealer. It comes in a squeeze tube with a very narrow opening. I think the packaging is very effective. It applies beautifully and can be build up without getting cakey. #03 has a tad of peachiness to it, which is great to conceal some darkness under the eyes. I am really loving the concealer even more than the foundation. I have dryness around my eye area but it doesn't accentuate it. Both the concealer and foundation have good staying power.
The cute powder pink Guerlain Foundation Brush is made of synthetic bristles. It is very soft. I like to use it to blend the foundation and work it in the skin after using my fingers to apply it first. That way I don't lose some of the foundation to the brush but still get a flawless application. The bristles are not too tightly packed like Shiseido Foundation Brush. The top of the bristles are also not flat like that one but they have more of a domed shape. It comes in a black porch to take with you to your purse.
Here is a complete FOTD with foundation and concealer, which you have recently seen at Dior Fall 2016 Collection post.
FOTD with Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation and Multi-Perfection Concealer |
Final thoughts: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation has a nice light weight but buildable texture with a natural semi matte finish. Multi-Perfection Concealer is a lovely addition to Guerlain line. You might love it especially if you find other concealers drying. Foundation Brush is great to apply or to blend the foundation.
Do you use brush to apply foundation?

I am not paid for this review. All opinions are honest and my own.
Hi Sara, thank you for your review. I tried the old LdP but it was too pink for me. I'll try to get a sample of the new one but I suspect that the lightest shade available here will be too dark for me in winter.
ReplyDeleteThe concealer sounds very tempting though. I think I'll try it after I've finished my current one from Sisley.
Yes, I usually apply foundation with a brush. My favourite one is from Shiseido.
I like how natural this foundation looks and yet it evened things out so nicely! Such a pretty final look too- love that lipstick :)

Yes, of course, I am interested in the concealer. It looks perfect for normal dry skin. And I like that they have a range of undertones. That is half the battle truly.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back! I just picked up the new LdP foundation a couple weeks ago and am surprisingly in love. So light yet it gives just such a beautiful finish, as seen in your photos. I'm finding that my so-called "mature" skin (I'm not convinced my skin is that mature -- it still makes bad decisions!) seems to like it. It's very light coverage using fingers to apply. Starting to use it with a Sephora foundation brush just to pat in and that seems to work well for more moderate coverage. I didn't buy the Guerlain brush -- too many brushes!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing amazing things about the Lingerie De Peau range, so I guess it's time I get my hands on some samples. I think I might like the concealer.
ReplyDeleteI was one of the disappointed few :-( I loved the old LdP, but I guess my skin is too dry for the new iteration. I have dry, mature skin, and even though I moisturize with wild abandon, the new LdP--after an hour or so--begins to emphasize my areas of dryness. I wonder if it has something to do with whatever is in it that preserves the semi-matte finish. Hmmm . . . When first applied, the finish is even and smooth but then begins to look patchy about an hour in. Too bad :-(
